Abstract

This research investigates the effectiveness of existing cybersecurity measures in protecting trade secrets within organizations, a pressing issue as proprietary information increasingly faces threats from cyberattacks. Utilizing both qualitative and quantitative methodologies, this research incorporates case studies of organizations that have experienced breaches, thorough assessments of current cybersecurity protocols, and surveys conducted with industry experts to gauge perceived threats and protective strategies. The findings reveal that while many organizations possess foundational cybersecurity measures, substantial gaps remain in their implementation and effectiveness, often resulting in vulnerabilities that could lead to significant financial and reputational damage. Importantly, the research underscores the critical need for enhanced cybersecurity strategies tailored specifically for the protection of sensitive trade secrets, particularly in the healthcare sector, where data breaches can have far-reaching implications on patient confidentiality and organizational integrity. The significance of these findings is amplified by the increasing reliance on digital information management within healthcare, highlighting the urgent necessity for organizations to prioritize the safeguarding of proprietary information against evolving cyber threats. This study not only contributes to a deeper understanding of cybersecurity in the context of trade secret protection but also offers valuable insights for healthcare organizations seeking to bolster their defenses, fostering a more resilient healthcare infrastructure that can better withstand cyber risks in the future.
